The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the idea of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular to:
1. Develop acquaintances as an opportunity for service.
2. Set high ethical standards in business and the professions, recognize the worthiness of all useful occupations, and dignify each occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
3. Apply the ideal of service to every Rotarian’s personal, business and community life.
4. Advance international understanding, goodwill and peace.
Rotary teaches us about the work, problems and experiences of others. Beyond this, Rotary stimulates the desire to serve others; this is the essence of Rotary.
As an international humanitarian service organization, Rotary encourages us to volunteer our time and resources to others in our local community and throughout the world.
Rotary International’s monthly magazine, The Rotarian, showcases what Rotarians throughout the world are doing in the name of service.
