When you are invited to join Rotary, it is because we believe you are the right person to represent your classification. In addition, we assume you are seriously interested in doing something for the community. To do this, you need to know members whose efforts are directed in the same channels.
It is reasonable to say that you cannot do a good job if you do not attend meetings. An active member of the FM-AM Rotary club must make a standing date for breakfast at Seasons Restaurant every Thursday morning at 7 AM.
The rules of attendance in Rotary are the same all over the world: if a member misses four consecutive meetings without making them up at another Rotary club, unless excused by the Directors, or fails to attend at least 60% (at least 50% of which must be at their home club) of Rotary club meetings, his or her membership may be reviewed for termination.
If you know you are going to miss a meeting, you may earn a make-up credit by attending another Rotary club’s meeting either two weeks prior or two weeks following the missed meeting. There are four Rotary clubs in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Meeting times, dates and locations are listed on this web site.
Why all this insistence upon attendance? Because through your active participation, your interest is maintained and the club and community-at-large benefit as well.
