Rachel Clarke won the Harley!

Harley Davidson 2008 Winner 2008 Harley Davidson Winner

One of Fargo West Rotary’s newer members, Rachel Clarke, won the Harley Davidson raffle at the Red Hawk’s game on May 10th. This is the first time a member has won the bike. 2nd Prize of $1000 was Jim Kava, 615 11th Ave N, Moorhead, MN 56560. He purchased his ticket at Scheel’s. 3rd Prize of $500 was Brian Driscoll, 4090 Main Ave, Fargo, ND 58103. He purchased his ticket via mail.

This is our 9th year finishing up at 394 total tickets sold. If these odds don’t motivate our member to buy at least one ticket I don't know what would. Brad goes on to tell the story of calling Rachel with the news: I just loved making the phone call to Rachel's house. Her husband answered and I asked if I could speak to Rachel and of course he asked “Who is this?” I said, “Brad from Rotary.” He said, “I will give her your cell phone number and she can call you.” A few minutes later she calls and I give her the news and she asked if I was kidding. Then Cory jumped in, too, and she asked again, “Are you kidding?” I said, “No.” I think at that time she started to believe us. When I asked if her husband said anything to her about it, she said, “Yes. He called me to tell me my boyfriend Brad called.” Well, I told her “That boyfriend just gave her the news that she won a $18,000.00 Harley Davidson!” It's been fun this year but I still get nervous and stressed but I am glad the 9th year is over. We already have ideas for next year.

All proceeds go to purchase four gray wolf pups from Canada. Transportation costs, health certificates & permits, forumla and handraising pups for socialization and food storage will be paid for through this fund raiser.

Red River Zoo Tonkin/Tur Exhibit Harley Davidson

The Harley raffle started out with a committment from the Fargo West Rotary Club to build the Takin/Tur exhibit at the Red River Zoo. That has been accomplished and now the focus has been moved to bringing a grey wolf exhibit to the region.

The Four Way Test -- Of what we think, say and do
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
