List of Accomplishments
Here is a partial summary of the many things that, as Rotarians of Fargo West Rotary, we have accomplished.
Locally
Our projects have touched the lives of people living in the Fargo-Moorhead Metro area. We have Donated Funds to the YWCA, Sponsored a Make-A-Wish child, participated in Cass County Youth Court as adult volunteers and sponsor the annual banquet, sponsor high school students to Rotary Youth Leadership Achievement camp ( Camp RYLA), and donated directly to many local charities.
Regionally
Fargo-Moorhead is the center of activities for many of the surrounding towns in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. Fargo West Rotary has accomplished many projects and donated to causes that reach outside the area and help to maintain Fargo-Moorhead as a vital center of regional activity. Some of the many things include collaboration with all four FM Rotary clubs on the construction of the Rotary Centennial Playground at Lindenwood Park - one of the regions only handicap accessible playground, contributed $145,000 to the Red River Zoo; building the Takin-Tur exhibit and are now purchasing the wolves for that exhibit, donated bike path rest areas to the Fargo Park District, provide vocational scholarships to Minnesota State Community and Technical College, sponsored Fraser Festival of Trees, support Hospice of the Red River Valley & Camp Hope, Repaired the train at Children's Museum at Yunker Farm - an award winning, regional children's museum, donated money to restore the Red River floating bridge and participated in Boy Scout and Junior Achievment programs.
Nationally
Farog West Rotary donated funds to the NY Rotary Foundation for World Trade Center relief for families as well as donating funds to various cities affeted by tornados and floods.
